Our Story
We aim to create innovative and sustainable designs that give a nod to barware of the past. The history of the cocktail hour is steeped in American tradition. We aim to bridge this rich history into the future of home entertaining by creating new American-made products that are heirloom-quality, handcrafted with care, and meant for years of use.
I'm Victoria Vergason, founder of The Modern Home Bar. I love to entertain and especially love the artistry behind crafting a good cocktail.
After having spent decades amassing a large collection of vintage glass and barware, in 2008, I opened a retail store, The Hour, in my home state of Virginia. Selling primarily vintage accoutrements for serving cocktails at home, I discovered many of my customers wanted drinkware that had the look and design sensibilities of vintage but that was more affordable and suited for today's lifestyle. It was important to me that, if I was going to start manufacturing my own goods, my products be made in America. Most of the vintage wares I sell at The Hour were produced in the United States by businesses that are no longer around. In 2017, I discovered a new technology that could digitally print designs on blank glassware. This new printing method gives the designs a raised texture which gives them a feel that is similar to vintage designer glassware. With a large inventory for inspiration, I began designing my own collections and, a year later, began manufacturing new products for the home and home bar.
I'm thrilled to offer you my new vintage-inspired artisan glass for you to create cocktails and mocktails at home. I believe a beautiful drink is a simple joy in life and one that is meant to be shared.
